An experimental study of an annular jet of small width issuing into stagnant surroundings has been reported. The measured quantities include mean velocity and turbulence intensities. The measurements have been carried out in the intermediate and fully merged zones. A constant temperature hot wire was used with X probe sensors. The results show that the annular jet develops faster than a single jet. The mean velocity profiles are similar and agree well with those for a single jet at a distance 3.24 times the outer diameter, downstream from the nozzle. The turbulence intensity profiles are similar at further greater distances and do not agree with the single jet. The results of calorimetric studies of synthesized oligosiloxane glycols (OSG) of different MW are discussed, as well as the data obtained for linear polyurethanes prepared from the OSG.
