Company Ethos
2headedpigeon Theatre Company bring a refreshingly irreverent approach to contemporary performance. Committed to subversive theatre that packs a punch, we seek to engage and provoke audiences with unusual theatrical experiences. Drawing influences from diverse and non-traditional sources, the company's aesthetic is heavily focussed on the vibrant and the visceral.
Previous Fringe Work2headedpigeon Theatre Company was established in 2003 to produce new writing and devised work in York and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The company premiered A Wolf at the Door (2004), before re-locating to London. Reforming around the creative relationships fostered on the Contemporary Theatre course at East 15 Acting School, we staged Deathmatch (2006), an alternative, improvised comedy show which left audiences gasping.
Theatre for Change
The Multimedia fairytale Threadbare Greebo (2007), showcased 2headedpigeon Theatre Company's committment to producing socially relevant work. Originally performed in London, the company was invited to tour to The Quay Arts Centre as part of an event focussing on young people's mental health. The company has also previously produced Sharing a Laugh (2004), a conference video for Joseph Rowntree Foundation/Rowan Research Group.
Current and Future Work
2headedpigeon Theatre Company brought their inimitable brand of performance to London and Edinburgh summer 2008, with two world premieres, The Absurdity of Vanilla and The Transaction. The forthcoming controversial rock-opera The Inconsiderate Aberrations of Billy the Kid is set to provide Londoners with an alternative to the festive schmaltz of the 2009 post-Xmas season.
